How I nearly got arrested in Iraq

The next in my adventure travel series, Destination: Iraq, is now live on Gadling. Titled A Run-in With Iraqi Police, it tells the story of how I nearly got arrested for being too trusting of the Iraqi people.

I really want to make this series big, so please share, tweet, and blog about it. I'd be happy to drop by your blog and answer a few questions. Help me out or this guy will come after you!

  1. I'd be willing to do a post about your Gadling series. I find it interesting.

I'm open to doing a post on the blog, or an interview or just a reminder, whatever helps. Leave a comment on my blog at

  2. I can't figure out how to comment on this without waxing political about "first world problems" in comparison to almost being arrested / shot for a shopping violation, so...I guess I just did.

Glad you survived your shopping experience!

  3. I'm stunned to think you went to Iraq. I live in Egypt and I'd never go to Iraq, Iran, or Afghanistan ... I'll go visit the link now and offer my support. :-)

  5. As Homer Simpson would say, "Let that be a lesson to you. Never trust anyone."
