Home to author Sean McLachlan and the House Divided series of Civil War horror novels. A Fine Likeness, the first in the series, is available now. This blog is dedicated to the Trans-Mississippi Civil War and historical fiction, and occasionally veers off into adventure travel when I go somewhere interesting.
Looking for more from Sean McLachlan? He also hangs out on the Midlist Writer blog, where he talks about writing, adventure travel, caving, and everything else he gets up to. He also reproduces all the posts from Civil War Horror, so drop on by!

How I nearly got arrested in Iraq
The next in my adventure travel series, Destination: Iraq, is now live on Gadling. Titled A Run-in With Iraqi Police, it tells the story of how I nearly got arrested for being too trusting of the Iraqi people.
I really want to make this series big, so please share, tweet, and blog about it. I'd be happy to drop by your blog and answer a few questions. Help me out or this guy will come after you!

I'd be willing to do a post about your Gadling series. I find it interesting.
ReplyDeleteI'm open to doing a post on the blog, or an interview or just a reminder, whatever helps. Leave a comment on my blog at

I can't figure out how to comment on this without waxing political about "first world problems" in comparison to almost being arrested / shot for a shopping violation, so...I guess I just did.
ReplyDeleteGlad you survived your shopping experience!
I'm stunned to think you went to Iraq. I live in Egypt and I'd never go to Iraq, Iran, or Afghanistan ... I'll go visit the link now and offer my support. :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I commented over there. I didn't see it appear though...
ReplyDeleteIt's up. Comments have to be approved to keep out the spammers and hate speech. Thanks for reading!
DeleteNo, don't send him after me!
ReplyDeleteAs Homer Simpson would say, "Let that be a lesson to you. Never trust anyone."
