ReplyDeleteYep! They were thought to be adders' or dragons' tongues and were used to detect and neutralize poisons.
DeleteSounds like alchemy. Hubs mentioned that rhino horns were also thought to draw poison out. (due to the horn's fiber content). Interesting, Sean!
